Work produced during Serlachius residency in Mänttä, Finland.
Focusing on the photographic archives from Serlachius Museum we made a collage animation and an installation that decontextualised parts of the video into smaller loops distributed in the gallery space.
Even if using the museum's archive as source, we were not interested in the historical reality that photographs document, but on the unknown they hide, as Susan Sontag said: “A photograph is only a fragment, and with the passage of time its moorings come unstuck”.
Nevertheless, the industrial ambient still prevails on top of the absurd world created in the video.

Obra realizada durante la residencia Serlachius en Mänttä, Finlandia.
Enfocando la investigación en el archivo fotográfico del Museo Serlachius, se generó una animación que resembla un collage, junto a una instalación que descontextualizaba partes del vídeo en loops cortos distribuidos en el espacio de la galería en pantallas pequeñas.
Aún utilizando la estructura del archivo del museo, el interés se desplaza desde la realidad histórica que las fotografías documentan hacia lo oculto que esconden. Como Susan Sontag señala: “Una fotografía es solo un fragmento, y con el paso del tiempo sus amarras se sueltan”.
A pesar de todos los esfuerzos e ironías, el ambiente industrial incrustado en las imágenes prevalece por sobre el universo absurdo del vídeo.
